Village Renovations
Tradition meets innovation – The Black Forest is one of the most important regions for tourism in Germany and is often associated with cuckoo clocks, Black Forest cake and Bergidylle. Today the region also has a dynamic economy and serves as the location for the numerous innovative medium-sized companies, some of which are world market leaders in their field. Several Black Forest towns are becoming bioenergy villages and are leading the way in the energy transition. New energy transition concepts are being implemented and an excellent public transportation network supports sustainable tourism. Architects and craftsmen in the region demonstrate the broad applicability of wood as a local and renewable building material while national parks and biosphere reserves preserve the beautiful landscape and create rest areas for flora and fauna.
