Freiburg’s Old Innercity from 1120 to Today

The historical center of Freiburg was largely destroyed during the Second World War. Thanks to extensive reconstruction and the establishment of a large pedestrian zone, the heart of the city is now a lively center. New developments, such as the enlargement of the pedestrian zone and a new tram line, provide insight into the future of the inner city. In addition, students will learn more about the important elements of Freiburg’s sustainable transport concept. The Bicycle Station, which serves as a combined service center and bicycle parking garage, complements the sustainable mobility concept in Freiburg.
