Expedition Schauinsland

- How does the forest react to the changing climate?
- What potential can renewable energies offer us?
- How does what we eat influence climate change?
- What is nature, what is landscape?
We will see two large wind turbines, visit a mountain restaurant that relies solely on its own energy source, and stop at a climate monitoring station where Europe’s longest measuring documentation of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is being carried out.
Motivated by participating in a rally, school children test their knowledge and ability to combine it with practical results. They learn the relevance for their daily lives: How can I save energy myself, be gentle on resources, and change my consumer behavior so that I release less climate damaging CO2?
Hike subjects are:
- Wind, Solar and Hydro-energy
- The Greenhouse Effect
- Nature and Landscape
- Forest and Climate Change
- Sustainable Food
Tours of the monitoring station depend on its availability.
Tour duration: 6 hours
Price for groups up to 30 people, incl. guide: 525 Euros
