Football stadium and hydraulic plants.

After a short introduction to renewable energy at the Solarturm, you will discover the stadium of Freiburg. As soon as solar energy matters, Freiburg plays in the first division. The school group will have the possibility to go up on the roof of the main tribune in order to take a closer look at one of the biggest solar plants of the city, as well as to watch the four windmills overlooking the city. Then we will go to the river Dreisam, where the pupils can see another example of civic involvement: a small hydropower plant.

Making use of rivers' hydropower and renaturation are the keys to water sustainable development. Many private individuals also contribute to financing hydraulic plants or fish ladders all along the Dreisam and the canals.
