Freiburg has years of experience with environmentally friendly mobility. Since the 1970s it has emphasized maintenance of the streetcar system, increased designated pedestrian zones and strongly promoted bicycle lane networks. Expansion of street car lines and pedestrian zones is an ongoing discussion. Freiburg was awarded the European OSMOSE prize for its holistic traffic planning efforts.

Themes are multi-vehicular mobility, car-sharing, mobility concepts for sustainable tourism, and state of the art developments in the field of electric mobility.

The seminar includes an introductory lecture and excursions as desired by bicycle - weather permitting – or via public transportation. Experience environmentally friendly mobility for yourself.
